Talk to Vladimir

To start Into the Unknown, you must head to The Eye, orbiting around Jemison and talk to Vladimir. Dock at The Eye and board it to find Vladimir Sall. Vladimir will ask you to find Andreja, another rookie in Constellation.

Note: The planets Vladimir sets you vary per playthrough. In my case the first planet was Tau Ceti II and the second planet was Tau Ceti VIII-B.

Head to the first planet to find Artifact Zeta. In my case, I had to visit an abandoned mine on Tau Ceti VIII-B. Both the planet and location on the planet are random.

Find the Artifact (Zeta)

Starfield sent me to a not-so-abandoned mine on planet Tau Ceti VIII-B, full of Spacers. What seems to be the same for all players is that we get a ton of loot while on this mission, while the locations we are sent are full of First Aid and other pharmaceutical supplies.

The only recommendation here is to follow your Objective Marker. Finding the artifact shouldn’t take long once you enter your designated structure.

Go to the Second Planet

This time, it was an abandoned mine. Based on images around the internet, the second location seems to be a similar mine to everyone, even if the planet names differ.

Find Andreja

Andreja should be the first person you encounter once you enter the facility. You will see here taking down enemies. Once she gets rid of them, she will confront you.

Once you talk to her, step down the ramp to find a Storage Box, a Weapon Case, and a Computer. You can use the Computer to recalibrate the robots and activate them to protect you or remove their combat inhibitors.

The enemies you face in the cave may be different. For me, they were pirates. Follow the objective marker; finding Artifact Iota shouldn’t take long.

You will drift off once again and see a vision when you pull out Artifact Iota. Andreja will stop being your companion, and you can return to The Lodge to place the artifacts in the collection.

Add the Artifacts to the Collection

Place the two newly acquired Artifacts in the collection. Then Matteo will talk to you.

Once you talk to Matteo, Andreja will join your crew. Noel will then receive a message from Vladimir about new data on Artifacts.

Travel back to The Eye to talk to Vladimir. Vladimir has discovered an anomaly on Procyon III. You must head there to scan it and see what you discover, as it may be another anomaly caused by an Artifact.

Open your Missions menu to jump to Procyon III. Land at the Scanner Anomaly location.

Follow Distortions on the Scanner

Upon landing, open up your Hand Scanner and walk around the planet following the distortions southeast of your ship (the circle you usually see when you open your Hand Scanner will distort, and you will hear static noise). You will soon have a new Objective Marker.

Follow the Objective Marker to reach Temple Eta. Follow the marker to the Temple‘s entrance.

Solving Temple Eta’s Puzzle

The puzzle is quite simple. You will start floating once you enter the temple. Float up, then float down, and use your Boost Pack to boost your speed. Your goal is to chase around the concentrated clusters of lights/stars. Every time you reach one in time, the rings at the center will start spinning faster, and you will hear a sound indicating your success.

Meanwhile, the background sound will start building up until it builds up to a crescendo, indicating that you are running out of time to complete the puzzle. It doesn’t matter how many light clusters you miss as long as the time hasn’t run out.

As the rings spin faster, you will also have less time to reach the concentrated clusters before they disappear. Regardless, the main mechanic you should utilize here is using your Boost Pack in a timely manner to ensure you reach each cluster before it disappears. Stay close to the center to shorten the distance between you and the clusters that may appear.

Once you complete the puzzle, the rings at the center will form a portal. Go through it to acquire your first power, Anti-Gravity Field. You will then exit the temple.

Time to head back to The Lodge.

Return to The Lodge

Upon your return to The Lodge, Noel will start running scans on you to see any changes cause by your new powers. Vladimir will ask you to demonstrate the Anti-Gravity Field power.

Once you show off your power, the quest will be completed. Your map will be updated, and you can start the side mission “Power From Beyond,” which will put you in search of more temples with powers. Your next main mission will be “All That Money Can Buy.” You will also receive 400 EXP and 9,500 Credits.
