The Den is one of Starfield’s most lucrative Star Station destinations, and this comes down to the fact that even though it is located in UC-controlled territory, there are no security scans around the Star Station, allowing you to smuggle contraband. Even better, inside The Den, you will find a Trade Authority outpost, allowing you to get rid of said contraband and make some Credits.
Where is The Den?
Hidden in plain sight, The Den orbits a planetoid named Chthonia in the Wolf System. Despite its convenient location northwest of Alpha Centauri, the game doesn’t provide explicit directions to this station. To reach it, ensure you’re in the Settled Systems and have enough fuel to grav-jump through multiple star systems.
Once in the vicinity of Chthonia, targeting The Den is straightforward. By default, keyboard users can press “E” to select it and fly within a 500-meter radius to unlock the “Dock” option. Members of the Constellation can then proceed to dock their ship, free from security scans usually needed when approaching a settled planet.
What Makes The Den Special
At first glance, The Den might look like your average space bar with a merchant. But there’s more than what meets the eye. Unlike other stations, The Den allows players to bypass security scans, as even though it’s on a planet’s orbit, there is no UC Security or SysDef around Chthoniamaking it a haven for those dealing in contraband. From AI cores and mech parts to harvested organs and stolen artworks, this space station is practically a black market in and of itself. What’s funnier is that all this happens under the nose of UC Vanguard Captain Rayna Marquez, who you will eventually encounter during “The Devils You Know” faction mission for the UC Vanguard.
The Trade Authority office within The Den gladly accepts all kinds of loot, making it an ideal spot for those looking to bypass the stricter trading laws of cities like New Atlantis or Neon.
The Den in Starfield is more than just another pitstop in your galactic adventures; it’s a strategic point for those engaged in the murky world of contraband trading until you join the Crimson Fleet and access The Key. The Den offers an indispensable loophole in a universe where most other trading points subject you to strict security checks.
