The best place to buy ship components in Starfield is right inside your own yard.

One thing is for sure with regard to buying ships and ship components in Starfield; You won’t run short of options to buy them, as two operating Staryards sell ships and parts, three Showrooms, and at least thirteen Ship Services Technicians.

It would be nice to have a place where all the parts from every single ship component manufacturer are available. To my knowledge, there is none (so far). However, there is definitely one place that is the best buy ship components (it also sells ships, but its stock is not particularly great):

Some players may think that outposts are not particularly useful in Starfield. However, here is a reason to like them a bit more. The Landing Pad with Shipbuilder outpost module (under the Miscellaneous Modules tab).

Why the Landing Pad with Shipbuilder is the Best Option for Ship Components

First of all, the Landing Pad with Shipbuilder has a large variety of all ship components (Reactors, Shield Generators, Weapons, Cargo Holds, Shielded Cargo Holds, Engines, Fuel Tanks, and Grav Drives). You won’t find every single ship component of the aforementioned types (for instance, one of my outposts doesn’t have any Shinigami weapons or Xiang reactors), but it has most of them.

I’ll throw in some speculation here. I think the variety of the above ship components depends on the outpost’s location. My only outpost Landing Pad with Shipbuilder is on Callisto, in the Sol System, so Shinigami and Xiang may be a bit too far. I will have to build Landing Pads with Shipbuilder in more outposts to see if the stock availability changes.

What makes it stand out, though, is the variety of Habs, Structural Components, Dockers, Cockpits, Landing Bays, and Landing Gear. I think the Landing Pad with Shipbuilder has every single one of these components from Stroud-Eklund, Deimos, Nova Galactic, Taiyo, and HopeTech, meaning that your needs will be fully covered, and you won’t have to travel to each manufacturer’s staryard or showroom to find them.

Note that there is not a single Ship Services Technician that offers similar stock. As far as I know, ship Services Technicians have Habs, Structural Components, Dockers, Cockpits, Landing Bays, and Landing Gear from at most three manufacturers.

To build a Landing Pad with Shipbuilder, interact with your outpost’s beacon to enter the build mode. From there:

  • Switch tabs until you find the Miscellaneous Modules tab.
  • The Landing Pad with Shipbuilder is the fifth module in the list.
  • Place the module to build it.

The materials required to build the Landing Pad with Shipbuilder are listed below:

  • 2x Zero Wire
  • 18x Adaptive Frame
  • 30x Iron
  • 2x Beryllium

You won’t need to power this module to function, and you can have at most one Landing Pad with Shipbuilder in your outpost. They are large, so ensure you have enough space to place the module.
