Find out whether you can complete both missions assigned to you by Commander Tuala at the end of Grunt Work.

Deep Cover or Delivering Devils Can You Do Both

The way Commander Tuala orders you to go to UC Vigilance or deliver the Terrormorph sample to Pelcivar on Mars at the end of Grunt Work sounds like the tasks are mutually exclusive. If that confused you, you are not the only one. However, Deep Cover and Delivering Devils can both be completed.

Deep Cover

Deep Cover is the first mission of the Crimson Fleet faction. It is one of those missions in Starfield that can be started in multiple ways. For many (or even most) players, Deep Cover will start the first time they get arrested in UC-controlled territory. They will end up at UC Vigilance, where Commander Ikande will assign them a very delicate objective.

Those players who have remained lawful or evaded arrest in UC-controlled territory may never encounter the Deep Cover mission unless they join the UC Vanguard. The whole mission setup is a great way for both delinquent and law-abiding players to join the ranks of the Crimson Fleet.

Deep Cover starts at UC Vigilance and ends in Cydonia, Mars.

Delivering Devils

Delivering Devils is the third mission of the UC Vanguard, as you begin to unravel the causes of the Terrormoph attack on Tau Ceti II. Your goal is to find Percival Walker on Mars, who is doing contractor work for the Trade Authority in Cydonia, and deliver him the Terrormorph Cell sample for further study.

Delivering Devils is a quite lengthy and rewarding mission that will lead you one step closer to understanding the nature of the threat.

Which Mission to Do First?

Since both missions can be completed, you may be on the fence as to which one to pick first. As Deep Cover ends in Cydonia, where Delivering Devils begins, I recommend doing Deep Cover first and proceeding to Delivering Devils straight after it. Regardless, the order of the missions doesn’t really matter as they are related to two entirely different questlines.
