The Viewport in New Atlantis on planet Jemison (Alpha Centauri System) is the first bar you will encounter in the Settled Systems. At The Viewport, you can:
- Recruit new Crew Members
- Start the Distilling Confidence misc mission
- Buy Aid (wines and liquor)
- Access The Viewport’s Mission Board and Bounty Clearance Kiosk
But first, let’s see how you can get to The Viewport.
How to Find The Viewport
Once you land in New Atlantis, take the ramp down from the Spaceport and head straight until you reach the UCSec offices and the scanning area. Once there, ascend the ramp to your left. Getting to the top of the ramp (it’s just a few meters long) will lead you to the New Atlantis’ main square with the big fountain.
You will see a huge “The Viewport” sign atop the building on your left, so by now, you should know the bar’s exact location. The image below indicates the exact location of The Viewport’s entrance, to the left of Jemison Merchantile. Head inside the bar and you will find potential crew members for your crew (named and unnamed), and Nyssa Marcano behind the counter.
What to Do at The Viewport
There are a variety of reasons to visit the viewport. You will find all of them below.
Start the Distilling Confidence Misc Mission
Once you reach New Atlantis, you will have a new activity in your mission log, “Speak to The Viewport’s Bartender.” Talk to Nyssa Marcano, and she will ask you to acquire an ingredient impounded by UCSec from a warehouse at the spaceport. Nyssa needs the missing ingredient to complete her recipe for Supernova, a new liquor.
Recruit Companions/Crew Members
Here are all three named Crew Members you can recruit at The Viewport:
- Marika Boros (Credits Fee: 16,500/8,250 with Persuasion)
- Ballistics (Rank 2)
- Shotgun Certification (Rank 1)
- Particle Beam Weapon Systems (Rank 1)
- Simeon Bankowski (Credits Fee: 13,500/6,750 with Persuasion):
- Sniper Certification (Rank 2)
- Sharpshooting (Rank 1)
- Marksmanship (Rank 1)
- Gideon Aker (Credits Fee: 20,000/10,000 with Persuasion):
- Ballistic Weapon Systems (Rank 2)
- Missile Weapon Systems (Rank 2)
Gideon Aker is a solid addition to your Ship’s crew, while Marika is a great combat companion early on.
Accept Missions from the Mission Board
The Mission Board and Self-Service Bounty Clearance Kiosk are next to each other on the left side of The Viewport, near the bartender’s counter. You can accept Cargo transfer missions or Bounty missions at the Mission Board.
Clear your Bounty at the Bounty Clearance Kiosk
At the Bounty Clearance Kiosk of The Viewport, you can pay any withstanding bounties to avoid getting arrested and losing any items.
Talk to The Hunter
The Hunter is a strange character you will first encounter at the Viewport. Talking to him won’t reveal much, for now.
