IA-C01G AORTA is probably the first Coral AC part players will encounter in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. The part is available during mission 19 (first playthrough), Survey the Uninhabited Floating City, where you must shut down multiple ECM Fog Generators.
IA-CO1G Aorta Location in Uninhabited Floating City
Obscure is the best to describe IA-CO1G Aorta’s location. The above video from the Meta Game Guides YouTube Channel indicates the generator’s location during the mission. However, in the video, I first shut down the first ECM generator and then headed to the second one before returning to loot IA-CO1G Aorta.
In particular, after you shut down the first ECM generator, you will approach an oval building and hear the message “Intrusion attempt persisting. Normalization Process A” from the Xylem Control System. This security message indicates that you are close to the building where you will find the IA-CO1G Aorta inside a parts container. A defense drone will also appear, which can transform into a mech. Then you are definitely close.
At this point, you should ensure that you are flying or have a vantage point and look for the only oval-shaped building around you. It also has a helipad on the roof. You will find IA-CO1G inside the parts container atop the building’s roof.
Once you are on top of the building look for the container on one of the edges and loot it to acquire on of the best generators in the game.
What Makes IA-C01G AORTA Special? Stats Explained
Many players have asked what makes IA-C01G: Aorta built by Rubicon Research Institute special. It’s not the most potent generator you can get up to this point, as VP-20D by Aruebus Group beats it in EN Capacity, EN Recharge, Supply Recovery, and EN Output. However, as a Coral generator, IA-C01G: Aorta has almost as high EN Capacity as VP-20D while weighing 7 tons less. Yes, you lose some in terms of EN Ouput, EN Recharge, and Supply Recovery, but the Aorta allows you to build potent, lightweight Armored Cores!
You can see a significant boost in Boost Speed for my mech when equipping the Aorta generator. If you are wondering where the value is in that, it’s simple. You will need a very lightweight mech to hit S Rank in most missions when you replay them, so in most likelihood, the Aorta is the generator you should use; at least, that’s what I do. This makes IA-C01G: Aorta special; it’s one of the best generators in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon for players who love lightweight mech builds.
Additionally, it boasts a higher post-recovery EN Supply (2,000 vs. 1,400), which means that it will fill much faster than most generators whenever you fully deplete your mech’s energy bar. Finally, this Coral generator has the highest Energy Fiream Spec. you have encountered up to this point in the game. Overall, IA-C01G: Aorta requires a unique playstyle to make the most of it, but if you do it right, it’s an amazing part to equip.
