How to change your name (and appearance) in Starfield, the easy way.

You know the struggle if you’ve ever been addressed as “Captain” instead of your character’s actual name by Vasco in Starfield. Whether you’re tired of the mispronunciations or want to update your virtual identity, you’re in luck. Here’s your in-depth guide on changing your name in Starfield, a bonus on tweaking your character’s appearance, and every location where you can perform the process.

Starfield is a game rich in customization options, allowing players to create unique characters. But what if you change your mind about your character’s name? Starfield has you covered, whether because you’re not pleased with your original choice or you’ve found out Vasco can pronounce a whole list of names correctly.

Why Change Your Name?

There are several reasons you may want to change your name in Starfield:

  • Story Implications: Your name won’t save you from your past actions in Starfield, but it can offer a fresh start or align better with your role-playing narrative.
  • Vascos Pronunciation: Vasco, the robot companion Barrett entrusted to you, has a list of names he can pronounce. Why not be called by an actual name instead of just “Captain”?
  • Personal Preferences: Maybe youve just thought of a cooler, more apt name for your Starfield journey.

How to Change Your Name in Starfield

Changing your name in Starfield is a simple but not entirely straightforward process. You can do this at any Enhance! Clinic/store, for a price of 500 Credits. These clinics can change more than just your name; they allow complete customization of your character’s appearance and pronouns.

Where to Find an Enhance! Clinic: Every Location

You will find an “Enhance!” clinic in every major city of the game. In some cities, they are not as easy to spot as you would expect.

The New Atlantis “Enhance!” clinic is next to the Outland store, close to the fast travel spawn point in the Commercial District, behind the artificial lake.

Neon (Core) – Bayu Plaza

From the Neon (Core) spawn point (Spaceport Terminal elevator), turn right and head past Reliant Medical and The Volii Hotel. The Neon Enhance! is the next store down the road.

Akila City

I think the above image is a much better map to help you get to the Enhance clinic in Akila, but a great alternative is to use your boost to reach it from the rooftops.

Cydonia

After you enter the Central Hub, pass the plastic dividers and head down the main ramp. At the ramp’s base, the first door on your left is Cydonia’s “Enhance!” clinic, while the one on your right is Cydonia’s Trade Authority.
