How to Breed Fusion Pals in Palworld [Pal Fusion Guide]

Breeding your Pals in Palworld is an extraordinary power source, granting you the ability to blend traits from two parent Pals into a formidable offspring. But there’s an even more exciting twist to it. By breeding specific combinations of Pals, you can unlock a rare and exclusive category known as ‘Fusion Pals,’ which can only be obtained through the Breeding Farm. In this regularly updated article, we delve into all the known Fusion Pal breeding combinations, enabling you to showcase your incredibly rare collection to your fellow gamers proudly.

How to Breed Fusion Pals

In Palworld, you can pair any two Pals for breeding as long as they are of opposite genders. This union results in an egg that, upon hatching, inherits traits from both parents while taking on the appearance of one of them at random.

However, the excitement doesn’t end there. Occasionally, when two Pals of different species come together, a special breed known as a Fusion Pal emerges. These extraordinary Fusion Pals are exceptionally potent and sport a distinctive appearance, often adopting the model of one parent along with the color patterns of the other.

How to Unlock the Breeding Farm Structure for Your Base

Breeding Farm Technology

Players must first reach Level 19 and have at least two Technology Points to unlock the capability to build a Breeding Farm. Achieving these prerequisites is essential before delving into the construction phase.

Building the Breeding Farm

The construction of the Breeding Farm requires a specific set of materials:

  • 100x Wood
  • 20x Stone
  • 50x Fiber

Resource gathering is a fundamental step, so ensure you have these quantities available. Given the Breeding Farm’s substantial size, selecting an appropriate location for it within your base is crucial. The placement not only impacts your base’s layout but also its efficiency. For players with an already crowded base, waiting until upgrading the base to Level 10 might be prudent. At this level, the option to build a second base becomes available, which can be dedicated solely to breeding activities, providing ample space for the Breeding Farm and its operations.

Building an Egg Incubator

In addition to the Breeding Farm, constructing an Incubator is necessary. This facility is where the Eggs laid by your Pals will be hatched, forming an integral part of the breeding process.

Unlocking and Building the Cooking Pot

To begin making a Cake, reach Level 17 to unlock the Cooking Pot. This requires two Technology Points. The Cooking Pot itself requires the following materials for construction:

  • 20x Wood
  • 15x Ingots
  • 3x Flame Organ

A Pal with the Kindling Work Suitability must be placed to operate the Cooking Pot. Remember, baking a Cake is a time-consuming process.

Gathering Cake Ingredients

With your Cooking Pot ready, collect the following ingredients for one Cake:

  • 5x Flour
  • 8x Red Berries
  • 7xMilk
  • 8x Egg
  • 2x Honey

Resources for Cake Ingredients

Flour

To make Flour, you must reach Level 15 to unlock the Wheat Plantation and Mill, each costing two Technology Points. Gather Wheat Seeds to build and operate these facilities. The Wheat Plantation requires 3x Wheat Seeds, 35x Wood, and 35x Stone. For the Mill, you need 50x Wood and 40x Stone. Three units of Wheat yield one bag of Flour, so you’ll need 15 units of Wheat for one Cake.

Red Berries

Red Berries are abundantly available in the wild but can also be cultivated at your base using a Berry Plantation, unlocked at Level 5. For the plantation, gather 3 Berry Seeds, 20 units of Wood, and 20 units of Stone.

Milk

Milk is obtained by defeating or capturing Mozzarina. For a steady supply, build a Ranch and assign Mozzarina to it. The Ranch requires 50 units of Wood, 20 units of Stone, and 30 units of Fiber.

Eggs

Eggs can be found near Chikipi or obtained by defeating or capturing them. Assigning Chikipi to the Ranch will ensure a regular supply of Eggs.

Honey

Honey is collected by capturing or defeating Beegardes. Assigning Beegardes to your Ranch will lead to Honey production there.

  • Consider purchasing Wheat, Milk, Eggs, and other ingredients from the Wandering Merchant if resources are scarce or time is limited.
  • Multiple Cakes will be needed for breeding several Pals, so plan your resource gathering accordingly.

Preparing the Breeding Farm

Begin by placing your Cake in the designated box on the right side of the Breeding Farm. This preparation step saves time and sets the stage for the breeding process.

Choosing the Right Pals for Breeding

Placing Pals in the Breeding Farm

Note: When breeding Pals, the parents do not pass down their Passive Skills to the Ancestor (bummer!), but they may pass Active Skills of the same type to them. For instance, when I bred a Sibelyx from a Vanwyrm and a Beakon, my Sibelyx had an Electric Active Skill, however, it wasn’t one of Beakon’s (bummer too, as you can’t pass down Epic Active Skills by breeding Pals).

When breeding Pals, it’s important to choose them carefully. To breed a specific type of Pal, refer to the Breeding Combos section for detailed guidance. Generally, breeding the rarest Pals you have is better, especially those with unique traits, Alpha, or Lucky Pals, as they tend to produce more powerful offspring. To start breeding, ensure you have one female and one male Pal in your Breeding Farm. To assign Pals to your Breeding Farm, lift them and drop them inside it for a fixed work assignment.

According to a Reddit post by user Blahable, each Pal species in the game is assigned a hidden Power number. When breeding two Pals, the game averages their Power numbers to determine the offspring’s species. Interestingly, more powerful Pals have lower Power numbers, preventing players from breeding Pals that are more rare or stronger than those they currently possess. This implies that if a player aims to hatch a specific Pal species, they must reach a particular average number with the parent species. However, various combinations of parent Pals can lead to the same offspring species.

The Breeding Process

Once you have placed the cake, the next step is to wait for the pals to breed. Instead of watching the breeding process, it’s more practical to engage in other activities. Keep an eye on the timer that shows the breeding duration. When the timer is complete, you can return to collect the egg.

Incubating the Egg

Take the egg you’ve collected and place it in an Incubator. After a certain period, the egg will hatch, and your new Pal will greet you!

In conclusion, breeding in Palworld is a straightforward but strategic process. From preparing the Breeding Farm with the necessary Cake to selecting the ideal Pals and patiently waiting for the breeding to complete, each step is integral to achieving successful results. With this guide, you can start creating powerful and unique Pals in your Palworld adventure.

Breeding Math: How Descendants Inherit Stats

Each Pal in Palworld possesses a unique hidden value crucial for breeding, known as the ‘Breeding Number.’ This number is a pivotal factor in determining the species of Pal that will hatch from the eggs produced during breeding.

The Breeding Combo involves the addition of the Breeding Numbers from one male and one female Pal placed in the Breeding Farm. The sum of these numbers is then averaged, and the result is rounded down to the nearest whole number. This final number corresponds to the species of Pal that will emerge from the egg.

Finally, While gender does not directly influence the Breeding Number equation, it’s noteworthy that certain Pals might have a higher likelihood of producing offspring of a particular gender.

Special Cases: Fusions and Fusion Combos

Palworld features 24 exceptions to the standard Breeding Number calculation. These unique cases require breeding two specific Pals together, with the egg invariably hatching into the same predetermined Pal.

These specific breeding pairs are commonly referred to as ‘Fusions’ or ‘Fusion Combos’ within the Palworld player community.

In summary, mastering Breeding Combos in Palworld is essential for players looking to achieve specific breeding objectives, from expanding their Paldex to passing on desirable traits. By understanding and utilizing Breeding Numbers and being aware of the special Fusion Combos, players can strategically breed Pals to acquire the desired outcomes in their Palworld adventures.
