A DDoS attack took out Among Us servers for 48 hours during the weekend.

Among Us servers were down for 48 hours due to a DDoS attack on the game’s servers.

A DDoS attack on a network floods it with so many requests that it either slows down data transfer or completely shuts down. These attacks can be dealt with if the required infrastructure is in place, but they can cause a service disruption.

Innersloth confirmed the issue via the official Among Us Twitter account. “We have a sabotage in progress, lol,” while saying that this affected North America and Europe servers.

The online social deduction game went offline and remained that way for the entire weekend. The latest tweet from the Among Us account stated that the servers were still down and that they “may be turned on/off. Will let you know when we believe they are stable, sorry!”

The developer, Innersloth, has mitigated the attack, and the game is working again.
