Despite the game’s success, Arrowhead operates with a relatively small team, which impacts how quickly they can respond to bugs and develop new features.
Helldivers 2, known for its intense multiplayer action and strategic gameplay, has promised its fan base a new Warbond every month—a commitment that the studio is striving to uphold. However, this ambitious release cadence puts considerable strain on the development team, especially since the same individuals are tasked with both creating new content and fixing existing issues.
SpitzerFX explained, “Arrowhead still has a very small team compared to the success of the game, and while we have dedicated QA, the people fixing bugs with weapons and armor for example are the same people in charge of making new weapons and armor.”
The studio’s commitment to delivering monthly updates is laudable, but it also means that some bugs and technical issues might not be addressed as swiftly as the community would like. The priority remains on maintaining the release schedule, which can delay the resolution of certain bugs depending on their severity and impact on gameplay.
Players have noted instances where bugs can be exploited for gain within the game, a practice that Arrowhead has acknowledged and criticized as “undemocratic.” The studio encourages players to earn their Super Credits through legitimate means, offering guides and tips for farming them effectively within the rules of the game.
