In a recent episode of the VGC Podcast, voice actor Ben Starr expressed an enthusiastic willingness to return to the role of Clive, a character he has become deeply connected with. Starr’s passion for the Final Fantasy series, both as a fan and as a contributor, has made him a beloved figure within the community. His commitment to the character and the series was palpable as he discussed the personal significance of Clive to him.

“If anyone asked me to do Clive again, I would jump at the chance,” Starr said during the podcast. “I feel such a personal attachment to him, as I said, and so if someone said we would like Clive to be involved in whatever thing, I would go, ‘yes, please let me do it’ because I feel a responsibility to do that.”

Ben Starr’s involvement in the Final Fantasy realm extends beyond just voice acting; he has been a prominent attendee at events related to the series ahead of the game’s launch, further cementing his status within the community. Despite his deep association with Final Fantasy, Starr revealed that he has not been approached about participating in Kingdom Hearts, another Square Enix franchise that merges Final Fantasy elements with Disney characters.

In related news, Square Enix continues to expand the Final Fantasy 16 universe with the release of its first story DLC last December and plans to launch a second story expansion this spring. Fans eager to dive deeper into the game’s lore can purchase the Final Fantasy 16 Expansion Pass, providing access to both DLC packs, for $24.99 / £19.99.

Additionally, Square Enix has announced the development of a PC version of Final Fantasy 16, slated for release following the game’s successful reception on consoles. This move is part of Square Enix’s ongoing efforts to make their flagship titles more accessible to a broader audience.

As the Final Fantasy community eagerly anticipates the new expansions and PC version, Starr’s readiness to embody Clive once more highlights the deep connections formed between voice actors and the characters they bring to life, underscoring the collaborative spirit that defines the series.
