Elden Ring – How To Complete Blaidd’s Full Questline & Get His Armor And Greatsword

Anastasios Antoniadis

Blaidd is one of many NPCs that you can possibly encounter in the vast Lands Between. And like some of them, he has a side mission or a questline to complete in Elden Ring. This Guide will provide details on where to find Blaidd, how to start his questline and the results of your choices. Including answers to questions such as: Where to Find Darriwil in Elden Ring? How to get the Royal Greatsword? And what do you get for killing Blaidd?

As always, take a look at our section on Elden Ring. You can find many guides there, such as this awesome guide about 11 things every Elden Ring newbie should know. You can also find more technical guides such as this one, explaining how to stop PC stuttering and reduce the lags in-game. For more general information I recommend Meta Game Guides’s Elden Ring Ultimate Guide, which acts as a guide aggregator.

First Encounter With Blaidd in The Mistwood Ruins

You will need to make a trip to the Mistwood Ruins to find Blaidd. Mistwood Ruins are located in the most east-ward part of Limgrave. They are also located near one of the first minor Eldtrees you can reach in Elden Ring. Smackdown middle of the huge lush forest full of deadly bears.

You won’t be able to summon him just yet. When you enter Mistwood Ruins for the first time you should hear a wolf howl. It sounds noticeably very human as if some voice actor was mimicking a wolf. You will understand when you hear it. Witnessing the howling unlocks a dialogue option with Merchant Kale at Church of Elleh. Select “about the wolf howl in Mistwood Ruins” while talking to him, and he will give you the finger-snap gesture. And then he will instruct you to use it at the source of the howling.

Go back to the Mistwood Ruins, and when you hear the howling again, use the Finger Snap gesture. This will make Blaidd jump down from the huge tower ruin near the northern part of the ruins. You will probably need to explore a bit to find him. Just don’t wake up the huge bear! He’s a hassle to defeat and offers no worthwhile rewards. Talk to Blaidd, and he will tell you that he is tracking a “man” named Darriwill. To put an end to his story.

An important thing to note: He says that Darriwill is hiding “somewhere nearby”. WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNTRUE. I combed the entire Mistwood like an idiot the first time around. But he is contained in a whole other area of Limgrave!

The Forlorn Hound Evergaol And Bloodhound Knight Darriwill Boss Fight

So where are you supposed to find Darriwill? In the most Southern part of Limgrave. There is a bridge that takes you to the Weeping Peninsula. Right before that bridge. To the West. You can find a giant stone circle. If you have the map of Limgrave, it will be clearly visible to you. It is really hard to miss.

When you arrive at the said place you can “use” the glowing seal to enter Evergaol. Which is essentially a magical prison. When you load in, you will immediately see a golden summon sign in front of you. This sign summons Blaidd for the fight. I don’t think you need to summon him for the fight to continue the questline. But he makes quick work out of Darriwill so, there’s that.

The Boss is not super tough. I beat him easily with the Samurai starting class basic equipment. Blaidd almost solo’d Darriwill when I fought him on a different character. Just be on your guard, Darriwill has laughable defenses, and 10-15 light attacks will end him. But his damage output is scarry. So play it safe and keep that shield at the ready.

After defeating the boss you will be ejected out of the Evergaol. Blaidd will stand nearby and you can talk with him. He will tell you about War Counselor Iji, a blacksmith that you can find in northwest Liurnia. In Kingsrealm ruins. He will also hand you Somber Smithing stone 2 for helping him out. And later telling Iji that “Blaidd sent you” unlocks Carian Filigreed Crest talisman to be bough off Iji.

Intermission With Renna And Third Meeting With Blaidd

To advance Blaidd’s quest, you need to meet with Renna. An NPC closely related to Blaidd. As Blaidd serves her purpose, much like Iji the blacksmith.

You can find Renna in the Three Sisters sub-region of the Liurnia region. Right at the most Northern, Southern peak of the region. But you will need to find your way through Caria Manor first. Upon speaking with her, she requests that you aid Blaidd in the Siofra River. This then allows you to further Blaidd’s questline.

Siofra River is located back in Mistwood. You enter this “dungeon” via the Siofra River Well elevator, located in the north-western part of Mistwood. Keep an eye out for a huge building with an ornament dome on top of it.

Then you will have to fight through the first phase of the dungeon, which ends with another elevator ride. You will know you are at the right place when you enter a humongous open space, complete with dazzling visuals.

Just keep hugging the eastern side and making your way north. You should reach a cliff soon. Keep going north along the cliff edge. You will find the map at the area at some point, and north still from that point you will find Blaidd brooding near the edge of the cliff. Exhaust his dialogue.

The Seluvis Questline Merge

When you talk with Blaidd in Siofra River, he will point you to Preceptor Seluvis. And here’s where things get a little complicated. Because you now must begin Seluvis questline to continue Blaidd’s questline.

Travel to Seluvis’s Rise, which is just South of Ranni’s Rise. So as long as you activated the site of grace there, you should be fine. Speak to Preceptor Seluvis to initiate his Questline. He will ask you to deliver a letter to Sellen. She is located in Waypoint Ruins back in Limgrave.

Speak to her, she will reveal critical information about Starscourge Radahn to you. With this information secured, you can now further Blaidd’s questline. Make your way back to him, and fill him in. He then points you to Redmane Castle. Where he will join you for a tournament to bring an end to Starshcourge Radahn.

Redmane Castle Encounter And Radahn Fight

You now must travel to Redmane Castle. Located in the South-most part of Caelid. It’s that bit at the bottom that looks like a separated island. But it can be reached via an Impassable Greatbridge. Thanks to a key item that allows for travel via those great bridges.

Doing the previous steps in Blaidd’s questline almost completely depopulates Redmane Castle. So you won’t find much opposition here.

You’ll find many NPCs, including Blaidd and Alexander the Iron Fist, when you get to the central courtyard. Speak to all of them if you wish. An announcer right above the courtyard must then be spoken to. He will help you initiate the festival. Then you can enter Radahn’s boss battle. But be sure to grab summon signs for some valuable backup against him.

What To Do After The Starscourge Radahn Boss Fight?

You can speak to Blaidd right after you beat Radahn. He brings your attention to the falling star that crashed down into Limgrave after you beat the monstrosity. He suggests you meet where it made an impact to investigate.

You can then find a special message left by Blaidd in Mistwood Ruins, right where you first met with him. He tells you to meet him inside the Nokron.

You then have to enter the Nokron Eternal City. The entrance to which is located right near Fort Haight. To the South of Mistwood. You can even teleport directly there if you have the Fort Haight West site of grace activated. Then just approach a bunch of floating rocks. You can’t miss it.

Blaidd Questline Ending And Rewards

While making your way through Nokron you will be attacked by Blaidd’s Shadow. Basically a spirit version of Blaidd. Who is a formidable opponent.

You must then actually complete all of Ranni’s questline. Which I won’t summarise here for clarity’s sake. Just know that Blaidd Questline won’t receive any ending, or be furthered without taking care of business with Ranni first.

After you complete her questline, make your way back to Ranni’s Rise. At the entrance, you will find Blaidd who went mad out of grief. He will agro as soon as you enter his line of sight, and you cannot avoid fighting him sadly.

After you strike him down you will receive Royal Greatsword and Blaidd’s armor set. Which looks sick as hell. It’s a 3-piece armor set that lacks any head slot item. Quite obviously because he has a giant wolf head that cannot be contained by any helmet.

You can speak to Iji the blacksmith to find out why Blaidd went mad. Rest in peace best boi, you will be missed.

And this concludes the questline of Blaidd. If you are hungry for more Elden Ring content and guides, you can always check out our Elden Ring section. Expect more questline guides for Elden Ring soon.
